Kiana Sabugo
Hi there! My name is Kiana Sabugo, I am a second year PhD student in the ECC Lab, admitted through the Cognitive Neuroscience Admitting Program. I am largely interested in how beliefs about cognitive control influence both intrapersonal domains and interpersonal domains— such as in moral judgments, blame, and compassion. My current research explores how metacognitive experiences (such as meditation, mind wandering, and reflection) influence beliefs related to free will and self-control. Prior to coming to Duke, I received my B.S. in Psychological & Brain Sciences and B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In addition to research, I enjoy singing with my ukulele, being in nature, exercising, and playing with my cat, Marsha.
